Adrian Evans, Director of Ev-entz and David Powell of Upbeat met in 1977 as they started their fledgling percussion studies in the same Music Centre. Progressing through to the Gwent Youth Brass Band, they eventually formed 50% of the percussion section of the first National Youth Brass Band of Wales! Specialising in Ultra-Violet/Black-Light non-verbal and sensory productions incorporating Makaton as a visual language to widen access and performed with established and newly-composed Welsh music.

We work in 3 strands as Hummadruz:

Large-scale productions touring Theatres with full-length narrative UV shows and professional and community performers;

Festivals and Clubs performing on stage and walkabout; Creating DJ-led UV spectacles for clubbers. Pop-up UV tent for workshops and raves.

Community workshops for the public teaching Drama, Carnival, Dance, Circus, Mask, Puppetry, and Mime for special schools and community groups"

Symphony Education

Symphony Education provides complete, differentiated, student-led Schemes of Work with all accompanying resources so teachers can get their work-life balance back.  Upbeat projects compliment many of the schemes offered by Symphony.






 



 



 

 

Drums for Schools are different...they're motivated to make music, not money, and are passionate about making music-making accessible to EVERYONE. This means making it easy for players of any ability to get involved, providing support for players and teachers and making it all affordable.
